New Orleans, a historic town on the Southern Coast of America. A rich and unique culture with a history of delving into the supernatural world, what better place for a mecca of the supernatural? Ghosts, vampires, werewolves, and zombies all co-exist in with most of the human population none the wiser, except for perhaps the secret Founder's council which often wishes to wipe vampires from the face of the town.

New Orleans has everything one would expect: bustling students, a private detective, family rivalries, and some residents whose history dates back over a thousand years. But behind all that lies the real story. The story of the Original vampires, of Elena Gilbert and her friends' journey into the supernatural world, of a vampire, ghost, and a werewolf finding themselves as house mates, zombies that can be our friends and neighbors, two werewolf families, the Lockwood's and the Cysnos', joined together after centuries of rivalry, and magic that runs deep in the veins of many residents.

With newcomers to town, growing tensions in the supernatural community, and people with dark plans in the shadows what will be next for the residents of New Orleans?

Night’Rippers is an alternate universe roleplay that is The Vampire Diaries centric but incorporates characters from Dylan Dog: Dead of Night & Being Human (US) amongst a New Orleans backdrop.

Knowledge of the shows/movie are welcome but not required, as long as you at least have a general knowledge of the one your character belongs to. It's the same characters you know and love but with a unique storyline to make things exciting!

Dylan Dog | Human | Age: 29 | Private Detective | FC: Brandon Routh | TAKEN

Born and raised in New Orleans with an interesting family background, Dylan was always surrounded by the supernatural world. He had a fairly normal childhood until the death of his parents when he was ten, via car crash. Then he moved in with his Aunt and Uncle whom were much more vocal about his heritage then his parents had been as his Aunt Aurora and his cousins were witches and two of his ancestors had been turned into vampires years earlier. As he grew older he found his calling in the Private Eye business. New Orleans has a unique balance between its supernatural and human community and soon Dylan found himself appointed the non-bias investigator. When one steps over the line, be it witch, vampire, or werewolf, he’d get to the bottom of it and thus keep the peace in the community.

All was going well with the exception of is cousin Maddox’s disappearance in 2006, until the summer of 2008, when his girl friend was murdered by a vampire. Driven by grief and a need for revenge he killed the entire group of vampire elders in town and left the paranormal business behind to be a normal private eye.  The only connections he still had with that world being his family, though even that was strained with the exception of Andie. Soon he met and became friends with Marcus Deckler whom began to help him in his investigations. Eventually he was brought into the case of Elizabeth Ryan’s (Saltzman) father’s death, directly resulting in Marcus being turned into a zombie and the discovery that Marcus’s brother Josh was a werewolf (living with a vampire). As the case progressed he both became involved with Elizabeth and discovered the truth about his girlfriend’s death. Vargas a local vampire had killed her as part of a plan to use Dylan to get rid of the elders and take over control of the vampire community. As the case was solved and Elizabeth was revealed the ‘bad guy’ he took up the paranormal side of the job once more. This led him to taking on Zoe St. John as an employee.

His life took another turn Anna returned to town to save her mother from the tomb. Dylan learning of the plan once it was already too late now found himself getting to know his vampire ancestors. He also got involved into Katherine Pierce’s tangled web as she kept popping up during his cases. At first she drove him crazy but soon enough that turned into a complicated relationship. He often utilizes his cousin Andie’s resources since she works for the local news as a reporter and he shares a close friendship with Gabriel Cysnos & Borelli De Luca.

In the wake of recent events he finds himself in the middle of a growing tension within the supernatural community and just trying to keep the peace, on top of dealing with his complicated relationship with Katherine. Will ghosts from his past begin to surface? Will he find himself being pulled further into the drama surrounding Marcus and Zoe’s families and friends? And if so, what does this mean for him?
